Carol Satterlee

Innately I admit that I tend to be a creature of habit and structure. It certainly has worked for me in the past in staying focused and attaining goals. But parenthood and life experiences have taught me (maybe forced me!) to operate differently. I think I shifted my ways in my late thirties, early forties and I truly like how I've evolved, that is, living with more patience and in the present. Now don't get me wrong, I still tend to be task oriented and I like how it makes me feel I'm accomplishing things in my life.

But I'd say it has been the past five years where I've really been living from a different perspective. I've connected strongly to my own personal mantra, "Live life with no regrets" and this is what helps me focus on the NOW. So every action, connection, relationship, and choice is guided by this mantra for me.

This mantra not only helps me to focus on my "now" moments, but likewise, motivates me to create and set goals that one day I can look back and collectively acknowledge that I did, in fact, achieve them. And no matter what goals are made and met or not met, as long as I feel no regrets, then I know I'm living my life the best I am able.

There is something really wonderful about growing older, isn't there, Carol? Maybe it's wisdom, maybe life's teachings. Regardless, it's nice to come to the place where one is intentional about living a life of no regrets. That's living a life in the now, having a life in the now. Your words, "no matter what goals are made and met or not met . . . then I know I'm living my life the best I am able," say it all for me. Thanks for your post.
