How cute! I never knew otters behaved this way. It does remind me of my inner samurai. I feel like my inner samurai is my "true north" that keeps me on track. Just very gently floating beside me. Sometimes I get off course and disconnected from that inner voice - I'd like to realize that sooner than I do sometimes. My goal is to be so aware of that connection that I'll notice immediately when it weakens .

Indeed, Marlene. Our inner Samurai IS our true north. Well put!

That is so sweet and adorable! In my life, those otters represent me and my twin. We’ve traded roles over the years, and we both scurry back to hold hands when separated. When she moves away this summer, I’ll finally have to rely on my “inner samurai.” That’s bound to be a good thing...

What a great comparison, Dana! Our inner Samurai is very much like our twin--always there, always present.

Have seen this video before, Susan, and it still moves me. Holding hands is one of the most intimate things people (or otters) can do, I think. That anchor the other person provides by holding your hand constitutes a promise to take care of you. Is it our inner samurai that encourages us to reach out and offer our hand? And, is it the other person's inner samurai that accepts it?

Holding hands . . . both so intimate and sure. What prompts that response? Could well be the inner Samurai within each of us welling up to remind us of connection to all.

I wanted to comment on Dana's post as she is a twin, I am also one. I have always felt that it is such a unique privilege to be an identical twin. My sister, Cindy, and I have always managed to create our lives so we are always minutes away from one another. (Yes, we are so fortunate for such loving and understanding husbands!)

So I totally identify with being connected to someone... always have been and know I always will be.

But it was over the last year and a half I finally realized the impact of being a twin in my pursuit of creating a business. After years of being tough on myself for not propelling myself as fast and effectively out in the business world, I am finally embracing the fact that I choose to be in business with a partner. It's what makes me feel connected, it's what motivates me, propels me, keeps me accountable and I love creating with someone at my side. So imagine how awesome it feels to have found the perfect business partner (Lisa) and to be working towards our practice that we hope to launch later this year.

I do believe there is an inner samurai in each of us. But I also acknowledge and finally embrace with open arms the great synergy that can be created when you put the energy of two inner samurais together as well!

How wonderful to know that one of the unique gifts of being a twin is that of partnership. Knowing that, why would you want to do anything else? Partnering then becomes a strength! Something to bring to the table that you have been doing well all your life. Indeed, you do know the great synergy that is created when two inner Samurais come together.
